The Shining by Stephen King

12994515How fucked up can a book be? Read The Shining to find out.

This is a remarkably well written book with complex, perfectly developed lifelike characters. The multidimensional way in which this book was written and the skill with which Stephen King lays layer after layer and piece after piece to the story and the whole picture are amazing.

I can tell that a Stephen King book has served its purpose by the sick feeling I’m left with afterwards–the same feeling I have right now. This is a sick, disturbingly good novel and I really like it. You should read it. Everyone should.

Oh, and one more thing. I haven’t seen the movie, but now that I know the story behind this image, I’m pretty sure Jack it will haunt me tonight.
